The question is, how do you know if somebody needs more shockwave? Like, how do you know? Like a lot of people and there’s six visits and then they ask us should I get a couple more? Do I need to do another round? First of all, they’re asking you, the answer is probably yes, because that means that they’re not a hundred percent yet, but the way you know, is shockwave is an amazing tool.
It only hurts damaged tissue. If the treatment is still painful, then that means that there’s still damage to the tissue. It’s that easy. So while they’re getting the shockwave, they’re still experiencing pain. Then that means the area is not healed. If they’re not experiencing pain, then they transition into wellness.
Wellness for shockwave is absolutely amazing. It’s literally once every three months. I wouldn’t do once every three months in one jump. because chances are it will flare up. So what I would do is first visit, I would put at in two weeks, the second visit, I would put at a month, the third visit I would put at three months and then they could continue at three months and that will maintain it perfectly.
It’s not like decompression. It’s not like adjustments. It’s not like any of that. Literally the maintenance for shockwave is once every three months. Is it like, there’s nothing like it. You do that. You’ll never experience it again. But if you’re still feeling pain, that means there’s still damage in the area and we should continue to treat it.
The average treatment plan for shockwave is six to eight visits. That’s what the research shows is six to eight visits. However, if it’s been there for 20 years, it might take a little bit more. Like you see that guy Fernando has been dealing with this for almost 20 years. Like for us to fix it in six to eight visits would be a miracle.
It’s just not realistic. But if it’s something recent, then we can fix it pretty quick. But if it’s something that’s been there forever, like it’s going to take forever for us to break through all that scar tissue, break through all that adhesion, break through all that calcification and repair the area.
It’s going to take probably closer to 12.
